The short version

nemodocs runs on your device. It never sends your documents off it. We do not collect them, see them, or train on them. The app has no account, no login, and no analytics. The website does not use cookies or trackers.

The only personal information we ever hold is what you choose to send us, for example if you email us or book a demo through the website. The rest of this policy explains that in detail, plus the small amount of technical data involved in serving you the website and any installer we send you.

Who we are

nemodocs is made by [Legal entity name, ABN] ("we", "us"). We are based in Australia. You can reach us at hello@nemodocs.ai.

This policy covers two things: the nemodocs desktop app, and the website at nemodocs.ai.

The app

Your documents

Everything the app does, scanning, redacting and verifying, happens on your own computer, in the app's own process. The app does not upload your documents anywhere. There is no server-side processing. It works with no internet connection.

We cannot see your documents. The app never sends them anywhere, so there is no copy outside your device for us or anyone else to reach through nemodocs. Nothing is used to train any model, ours or anyone else's.

What the app stores on your device

The app keeps its working data in a folder on your computer (on a Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Nemodocs). This includes:

  • your recent runs (the files you processed and their results),
  • saved profiles (details you asked it to look for),
  • a technical log of the app's own activity (not the contents of your documents).

This data stays on your device. You can delete runs from the "Recent runs" panel in the app, or delete the whole folder at any time. Uninstalling the app and deleting that folder removes everything. Like any app data, your own device backups (Time Machine, for example) may include this folder.

The optional AI discovery layer

If you choose to enable the optional AI discovery layer, your computer downloads the model and its supporting software from third-party servers (the Python Package Index and Hugging Face). You start this download yourself. The download travels one way: software comes to your device, and nothing about your documents goes back. While AI discovery is enabled, the app may also check Hugging Face for model updates when it starts.

Those requests carry the standard technical details of any internet request — your IP address and basic request information. They never carry your documents, or anything about what you use the app for. The model itself runs entirely on your device, and document processing works offline like everything else.

The website (nemodocs.ai)

The website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and has no tracking of any kind. There is no account to create.

Like every website, it is delivered by a hosting provider (currently Vercel, a United States company). When you visit, the hosting provider's infrastructure processes your IP address and standard request data (browser type, pages requested) to serve the page and protect against abuse. That processing happens on Vercel's servers outside Australia, primarily in the United States and its global network. We do not use this data to identify or profile anyone. The website does not host the app itself; if we send you an installer link, the service hosting that file processes the same kind of technical data when you download it.

The demo request form

If you book a demo through the website, we collect what you type into the form: your name, your work email, and anything you choose to add about your organisation and the documents you handle. We use it to reply and set up the demo, and for nothing else.

Submissions are stored with our infrastructure providers (currently Supabase for storage and Resend for email delivery), so they are processed on servers outside Australia. We keep demo requests while we are in touch with you and delete them once they are no longer needed. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.

If you email us

If you email hello@nemodocs.ai, we will have your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to reply, to fix problems and, if you send us feedback, to improve the product. If you send us a log file for troubleshooting, check it first: it describes the app's activity, not your documents' contents, but you should only send what you are comfortable with.

We keep support correspondence while the issue is open and for up to 12 months afterwards, in case the problem comes back, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time. Our email is hosted by a third-party provider, so correspondence may be stored on servers outside Australia (primarily the United States).

What we never do

  • The app never sends us your documents. We cannot receive, store, or read them through it. (If you choose to email us a document, we use it only to help you, and delete it on request.)
  • We never sell personal information. We never share it either, with two honest exceptions: the providers that host our website, form submissions and email process data as part of providing those services, and if the law ever compels a disclosure, we will disclose only what is required and, unless the law forbids it, tell you.
  • We never use your data to train AI models.
  • We never add tracking, analytics, or telemetry to the app without telling you plainly and updating this policy first.

Your rights

We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and its Australian Privacy Principles. Since we hold almost nothing, most requests are simple: email us and we will tell you what we have (usually: your emails to us), correct it, or delete it. The hosting arrangements described above are the only ways personal information we hold leaves Australia.

Wherever you are, including the UK and EU, we will honour requests for access, correction, deletion, and objection, to the standard the UK and EU GDPR would require. For the little data we hold, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will change the date at the top and, for anything meaningful, say plainly on the website what changed. We will not quietly weaken it.
